Thanks Brother Dean
Brother Dean Monroe and
his Bride Sierra hosted a really nice cookout for the members of
Frontier Lodge in June. There was a regular cornucopia of
delicacies. There was even enough seafood that it got Dan
Brown to make an appearance from Arkansas.
Sierra is going to take a
professorship at Texas A&M and she and Dean both hope he will
not be too long before obtaining a teaching position there
as well.

Frontier Lodge hosts Special Masonic Education
Night
Frontier Lodge
has been hosting education nights on the fourth Thursday of each
month for a while now. .
In March, Frontier Lodge
hosted a special night, with discussion of the Master Mason
degree. A special panel of distinguished Masonic scholars
answered questions posed by the moderator, Bro. Dean Monroe.
Panelists consisted of W. David Carpenter, W. Tony Deny, W. Jim
Tresner, and R.W. Richard Massad.
The evening started with
refreshments and fellowship from 6:30 until 7:30, followed by
the panel discussion at 7:30. A series of questions were
presented to each of the panelists, followed by discussion and
their interpretation of the "answer". Guests and members
of the lodge were then allowed to ask follow-up questions.
The evening was considered
a resounding success. Guests from Edmond lodge noted that
this was why they joined Masonry- to learn more than just the
degree language. Brothers who had been in Masonry
for 50 years stated they had never attended such an event in all
their years.
R.W. Massad stated that
the success of the program was encouraging and he hoped to see
it spread to other parts of the state.

Degrees just keep on coming...
We have
already done a two Fellowcraft and two Entered Apprentice degrees
this month,
Keep on charging brothers!

Frontier Lodge Wins Mark Twain
Award for Second Year in a Row ! !
Frontier Lodge was
recently notified that it has received its second Mark Twain
Masonic Awareness Award! This is a real honor for all the
brothers of the lodge, being one of nine lodges in the United
States to win two years in a row.
This year, Frontier Lodge
was joined by Albert Pike as the winners from the state of
Oklahoma. Antler Lodge was given honorable mention for the
second year in a row as well. Well done, brothers!

Congratulatory Message from our Texas Brethren
To the Worshipful Master, Wardens, and Brethren of Frontier
Lodge #48,
Congratulations on your second award of the Mark Twain Masonic
Awareness Award. I looked at your website last year and was
very impressed with the breadth and depth of your web presence.
In my opinion, your website alone is worthy of significant
kudos.
Frontier Lodge #28 of West Columbia, Texas is pleased to join
your impressive company by receiving the first Mark Twain
Masonic Awareness Award presented to a Texas Lodge.
I hope that circumstances will at some point allow us to sit
together for the good of the Order. We appreciate your efforts
toward Masonic Awareness. Besides, we like the name of your
lodge. Best Wishes now and in the future.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
Sam Whitley, WM

Frontier Lodge Does Its Part to Bring the Troops Home
Brother Steve Singleton arranged for four of the
OSU Big Orange Buses to go to El Paso to bring the
members of the 45th Infantry Brigade home for the holidays. They
are scheduled to deploy to Iraq in January and this was a chance for
them to spend time with their families before departing.
The buses drove from Stillwater (in a snow storm)
on Saturday the 22nd and returned the troops to Oklahoma on the 23rd.
They will return to Ft. Bliss in El Paso on the 2nd of January.
Frontier Lodge provided gift cards to all of the BOB drivers for giving
up their time to bring the troops home. The DeMolay chapter
addressed Christmas cards that were
given to the troops when they boarded the buses.
